In March 2024 it was announced that Robert would star as ‘Withnail’ in the world premiere stage adaptation of ‘Withnail and I’
The play was adapted from the original film starring Richard E Grant and Paul McGann by Bruce Robinson.
Rehearsals in London were followed by performances at Birmingham Rep from 3rd to 25th May. The part of ‘I’ was played by Adonis Siddique and Uncle Monty by Malcolm Sinclair.
The other cast members were Adam Young, Israel J Fredericks, Morgan Philpott, Matt Devitt, Adam Sopp and Sooz Kempner.
Reviews were excellent and it’s hoped that the play may be shown in the West End of London in the future.
